NEWS
hi there folks....welcome to 2012 !...we have been very busy here at Miso towers....after moving to our new offices and studio we are ready to make 2012 a very positive and productive year.
We kick off with a brand new project; January Tuesday is a band started by Charles Webster and L.A vocalist January Thompson and thier 1st e.p is Miso 18.....the original tracks; 'our jewel' and 'true love's sake' are both moody, deep and classy songs, fusing modern electronics with proper song writing...and to top it all off we have great remixes from Andre Lodemann and Coyote.
Throughout q1 and q2 of 2012 we are going to have quite a few releases on Miso...ep's from ; Charles Webster feat Shana Halligan (Bitter Sweet) (mixes from Charles Webster and Willi Graff & Tuccillo), a new E.P from Charles Webster feat Diviniti (mixes from dj Minx and Charles Webster) a new Furry Phreaks e.p, a new Charles WEbster e.p, a brand new Megatonk e.p, a two part 'unreleased' project featuring mixes never before avaliable as downloads and more music with Thandi Draai, Version , Diviniti, January Tuesday etc etc..
Also charles has remixes released soon on; Soul Candi (Mi Casa), Seasons, Foliage (Bucie), Daou recordings (Vanessa Daou) amongst many others.
MISO 018 "Our Jewel" and "True Love's Sake"

January Tuesday is a brand new project from Charles Webster and L.A
vocalist January Thompson, this is their 1st e.p.
The e.p kicks of with the deep, smooth rumblings of 'our jewel',
juxtaposing dark atmospherics, bleak beats and filtered guitars with
pure, sweetly resigned vocals, the result is truly hypnotic..in parts
quite reminiscent of Charles' now classic album 'born on the 24th of
July'. 'Our Jewel's' beauty and quality was immediately recognised by Warner Brothers who picked up the track for inclusion on there new hit t.v show 'the Secret Circle'
Next is 'true love's sake' with it's strangely, time signature
switching beats and raw sounds it is another deep, moody introspective
beauty of a song, prefect for these dark days.
After the original Charles Webster produced mixes we have a stellar
set of remixes, kicking of with a balearic beauty by Coyote (Is It
Balearic recordings), their 'Tropical Heat' mix, glides along,
blissfully building for over 6 minutes before they introduce the
vocals over their sneakily edited guitar patterns and dub bass, this
mix is set to be a beach/pool side classic.
Last but not least we bam up the tempo a little with Andre Lodemann's
mixes of 'true love's sake', Andre delivers his classic Berlin take on
deep, chunky house, using the vocal to full effect over swooping
chords and sequences and a killer octave bass line...pure class
!...and the whole thing is finished off with a lovely Lodemann
instrumental for the vocalphobes out there.

MISO 017 Charles Webster feat Thandi Draai "Fight for freedom"

Charles Webster teams up with rising South African star vocalist Thandi Draai, the result is a storming song with a message...tight beats and deep chords provide the bed for Thandi's amazing vocal delivery which starts as just speech and ends with a full Thandi choir, as with all Miso releases the song has a distinct message, no floaty, lyrical vuageness here for sure !
The original mix has slight afro flavours...but the remixes take the song to new and strange areas....Charles Webster's mixes are classic deep, bassy afairs with strong dancefloor arrangements and using the vocal to great effect....then to finish off the package in more than grand style, Atjazz delivers 2 stellar mixes, we think he has really surpassed himself here, the mixes are both deep and seriously meaningfull !

MISO 016 Charles Webster and Cathy Battistessa "I am the Sun"

At last ..here is the beautiful single from Charles Webster and Cathy Battistessa; 'i am the sun' is a true beauty of a song....Cathy's amazing vocal sits atop a classic Charles Webster super deep production, the result is truly mesmerizing.
A bit of history, Cathy is known for her work with Afterlife, Grant Nelson, Knee Deep amongst many others, her deluxe vocals have graced many a dancefloor worldwide and after Charles remixed Afterlife's 'let it go' (defected) which of course features Cathy, well, they just had to work together.
The result is not your everyday, dancefloor scream-up, littered with cliches and haggared stereotypes, this track really takes it's time and is a positive message of love for all, delivered in cathy's unique style. The package includes 6 mixes, ranging from deep to super deep to beatless, classy for sure, yet there is plenty of dancefloor bump, detail and passion to please all.

MISO 015 VERSION "NOTHING" REMIXES

After the fantastic response we got to Miso 014 (charles webster feat diviniti) we felt we ought to keep the ball rolling...so, up next on Miso is a lovely package of remixes of Version's 'nothing'.
The original release came out in January 2011 and heated up many a cold, dark winter room...with it's original, Charles Webster and Atjazz super slick production and Emilie Chick's deluxe vocal .... now here are the remixes !.
We start off with NYC and Columbia's finest, Mr Marlon D, this chap needs little introduction with his long line of tracks and mixes on Underground Collective, Jellybean Soul, Strictly Rhythm, MN2S amongst many others...he delivers a tough, musical and very funky remix, full of soul, very fat chords and his trademark beats...in all,a real dance floor monster.
Next up we have Irelands finest, Fish Go Deep...again these 2 Cork chaps need little introduction...i mean...who doesn't know 'the cure and the cause' ?... they deliver a tight, chunky and slamming mix, using a nice old school bass line and super chunky beats to amazing affect..very focussed and driving stuff.
and finally on this remix set we have 1 half of Version...Atjazz...this U.K producer is on an all time high at the moment with his mixes and tracks seemingly omnipresent in d.j playlists....Atjazz records, Defected, Tribe, Foliage records...all these label have had huge hits with his mixes of late....and..as usual his mixes here do not disappoint....they build beautifully with swinging beats, deeper than deep vocal fx...it is sexy and oh so tasty....
that's enough of my yakin'...just have a listen and i'm sure you will see what i mean.
